This intensive project required the removal of a freight train tunnel constructed over South Bound Interstate 405. The structure was 495 feet long, 68 feet wide, and composed of 3-foot thick reinforced concrete. Rhine was allowed three full South Bound 405 closures of 54 hours each to complete the work. But we dedicated our extensive resources to the job, completing the demolition in less than two of the three allowed closures. This significantly reduced the impact of the project on commerce and the entire motoring public.
