The Nalley Valley Viaduct is being replaced by WSDOT because the unique tetrapod support piers do not allow for widening the structure. These tetrapod piers and the height of the structure required coordinated operation of Rhine Demolition’s long reach excavators in order to safely demolish the structure within the tight timeframe required by the construction schedule.
